I have bad breath a lot. it is not halitosis ?
Posted on February 7th, 2011
I brush my teeth twice everyday and I brush my tongue. I know I dont have a disease or halitosis of any kind. what the hell is going on. like when I sit in class after I get to school it my mouth starts to get that funny taste after just an hour. Does anyone know what is going on. I already do chew gum and eat mints all the time. I dont want to do that forever though. I know plenty of people who have good breath withought a piece of gum in their mouth. thanks
I use mouthwash every night and every morning too

February 7th, 2011 at 4:37 pmlol this is this coincidence or what? i just watched the doctors and this guy was on it with bad breath! lol i know how to solve your problem. try breath rx!!! uhmm you spray the thing on your tongue. then you get the white plastic scraper and u scrap that stink off of your tongue and they said it was guaranteed to work! do not brush your tongue with your tooth brush cuz it will spread the germs.
instead get the tooth brush with the tongue scraper and just scrap your tongue. thats the problem. oh and he said that the mouth wash does not work that well..
lol sorry its really long but that will work!

February 7th, 2011 at 4:37 pmWell chewing gum and sucking mints may work for the moment it doesn’t work once you stop. There are many things that can be affecting it. Your diet is a major factor. If you are putting many toxins in your body you will have many problems. I am sure this didn’t help at all but whatever i guess.

February 7th, 2011 at 4:37 pmGo to your dentist, it very well could be gum disease. Even with all the care you are doing, you could be damaging your gums by over brushing or have a genetic disposition to it. Also, you could be dehydrated so drink more water.

February 7th, 2011 at 4:37 pmI had the same thing. Not too good when I want to kiss the females.
I went to the dentist and got a periodontal maintenance. Heavy cleaning with gum cleaning. Now I am kissable. Do not forget to floss since you got food particles in between your teeth. -

February 7th, 2011 at 4:37 pmI would ask a doctor or dentist if it is really a problem. Even if you don’t have halitosis they might be able to give you a prescription for a stronger mouthwash. Also try not to eat smelly foods like garlic and brush your teeth after eating.

If this doesn’t work what do you eat? Also make sure your toothpaste and toothbrush are new and are clean!

February 7th, 2011 at 4:37 pmToday on the show The Doctor’s they talked about your problem. This is what they said:
Chronic bad breath
Ryan, 22, is embarrassed by his chronic bad breath, which is also called halitosis. His sister, Summer, exclaims, “It’s so bad you can smell it from two feet away!” Celebrity dentist Bill Dorfman explains that the key to eliminating bad breath is to kill the bacteria on the tongue. He discourages the use of mouthwash because its high alcohol content dries out the mouth and causes the bacteria to proliferate.
Dr. Dorfman demonstrates his three step treatment, BreathRx Fresh Breath System, which emphasizes scraping the tongue to eliminate the bacteria that causes the unwanted odor. Brandon is eager to get started!

February 7th, 2011 at 4:37 pmI’m sorry I don’t know the answer to your question or you could go see your doctor or go see your dentist, but about the gum thing yeah not a good idea to chew it all the time because it could cause cancer!!!! It has this acid stuff or I’m not sure but it does cause cancer if you chew it a lot and also when you chew gum you do know that your chewing rubber right? Sorry to break it to you!

February 7th, 2011 at 4:37 pmI’m like the same way, i’ve prolly spent like over 500 dollars on gum, because if i don’t chew gum then my breath smells not so good.. so i totally know what you mean, so the only thing i can tell you is to ask a doctor or a dentist about it, i know it will prolly be embarrassing but they can give you special mouthwash and stuff to help. I’m going to the dentist in about a month, so i’m gonna talk to him about it. Hope I helped a little

February 7th, 2011 at 4:37 pmGum and mints will only make the problem worse because the sugars activate the bacteria that give you bad breath. The bacteria feast on sugar and starch and build tartar on your teeth and tongue. Try the Closys system. Walgreens/CVS pharmacy sell it. It is a toothpaste and mouthwash that is antimicrobial. My dentist started me on it, and since I started, my bf and family keep commenting on how fresh my breath is.
Very important, FLOSS. Twice a day. Bacteria and food in your teeth will cause bad breath.
Finally, brush your tongue.
I see a dentist twice a year, and my appointments never last more than 30 minutes because I follow this routine.

But maybe you have very bad sinuses, the flem from your respiratory system can sometimes rise up onto you throat and in ure saliva. Or you can have a fungai infection, or a decaying tooth. Who Knows. If you do have bad sinuses try to get some medicine for that and maybe that will help? Go to this website for more info. http://yourtotalhealth.ivillage.com/bad-breath-even-after-brushing.html

CHAD P Says:
February 7th, 2011 at 4:37 pmsome common causes of chronic bad breath are:
1. not drinking enough water
2. coffee and/or cigarettes
3. ketosis/ ketoacidosis (from not eating enough or being diabetic)If you overdo the sugar-free mints and gum, it could make your breath worse due to the reaction of the sugar alcohols in your stomach. These are the "fake" sweeteners and can cause stomach upset, gas pains, burping, and farting
Drink more water, dont smoke or drink coffee, and eat enough food. If this doesnt fix the problem, tell your doctor.
By the way, halitosis is not an illness. It is just a general medical term for bad breath of any cause.
